Dahlia semicactus – From Tuber To Flower

Dahlia semicactus – From Tuber To Flower. Dahlias can be grown in any type of garden, either individually or in groups, or combined with other perennials and annuals. It is up to each dahlia lover to decide how he or she wants to decorate his or her private garden with Dahlias based on the space available and their own individual ideas and tastes.
A private grower should seek advice from a specialist if he or she wants to create something unique and interesting. It is also a good idea to visit public gardens and take inspiration from them.

Over 12 Dahlia cultivars belonging to the semicactus class have been studied during this research: ‘Color Spectacle’, ‘Acapulco’, ‘Penelope’, ‘Witteman’s Best’, ‘Chat Noir’, ‘Gold Krown’, ‘Sorbet’, ‘American Dream’, ‘Kenora Jubilee’, ‘Mik’s Peppermint’, ‘BlackBerry Ripple’ and ‘Hy pimento’, and the most representative will serve as a display and for the proliferation of the garden.
The research was conducted at USAMV Cluj-Napoca, Department of Floriculture. Because dahlias are a favorite flower and have been grown in many gardens for years, the dahlia collection includes more than 50 varieties. These varieties display a wide variety of colors and forms. Every year, new varieties are added to the collection. Therefore, the finest plants are kept in collections, and those that flower for a long period, are also multiplied over time.
Following are some observations made regarding the characteristics. First blooming time, maximum blooming time, height, flower diameter, number of flowers, ligules, stems, and plant diameter of the plant. To illustrate the differences between these varieties, data has been statistically registered using analysis of variance DL.
