How to Make Turkish Coffee?

Turkish Sand Coffee looks like real magic when it’s being made. Water and fine coffee grinds are placed in a cezve, a special wide-bottomed pot, and then the pot is placed in hot sand. It is recommended to heat Turkish coffee to just under a rolling boil before making it properly. Almost instantly, the coffee foams to the top as a result of the even heat caused by the sand.
A small cup of sand is served with the cezve added three to four times to the sand. The result is a strongly flavored, thick coffee with suspended grounds that settle quickly to the bottom of the cup. By using the flame as a sort of “adjustable double boiler”, cups left on the surface stay warm while the heat used for brewing can be adjusted by the depth of the cezve in the sand without worrying about the temperature of the heat source.
