Magnificent Tricolor Goblet Shaped Flower

Crocus sieberi subsp tricolour 1 Tricolor Goblet Shaped Flower

Crocus sieberi subsp. 'sublimis Tricolor'

Photographer Rosie Nixon has given the name ‘Tricolor’ due to its purple-lilac goblet shape which also has a band of white and yellow at the base. I have quite a few of these in flower in the garden but during the winter months, it’s not easy to take the image outdoors.
Photographer Rosie gets the pictures and picked which can explore them up with a macro lens indoors. Rosie captured this image just as the heat of the room was encouraging the crocus to open its goblet-shaped flowers and reveal its nectar.
