Spotted Lake is a saline endorheic alkali lake that draws countless visitors from around the world located near the city of Osoyoos in British Columbia Canada. The Lake has rich in minerals such as magnesium sulfate, calcium, and sodium sulfate and contains extremely high concentrations of minerals such as silver and titanium. This geological wonder has been considered a mystery place for centuries by the native people, perhaps they thought the water has possessing therapeutic value. It was actually recognized by the First Nations of the Okanagan Valley as “Khiluk”.
In summer, Spotted Lake Khiluk water evaporates leaving behind colorful mineral deposits. The amoeba-shaped Spotted Lake changes colors throughout the year and during the summer divides itself into white, green, blue, and yellow pools.
