The Right of Our Ship – The first step must be taken at home. Tonight as a family let us take a moment to reflect and unflinchingly look at who we have become over the past few years. How do we fulfill our roles as solid parents, faithful spouses, and faithful supporters of those close to us? Are we being solid lovers and parents?
Do we have our own house in order? Are there any ways we can improve our family’s performance in the world as a whole? As a result of avoiding looking honestly at the nature of their personal lives, many good people do not become great people.
At some point, the incongruence between what they are trying to teach others and what they are trying to lead themselves comes back to bite them and they are derailed. Let us now ask ourselves, “What, in my own life, must I finally face and fix in order to get where I want to be? Do I need to eat a healthier diet in order to lose weight?
Let me take care of it then. How can I treat my kids with more patience andkindness? Do I need to be more patient and kind to them? I would like to begin by telling you a little about myself. Have I been putting off any tasks that may be beneficial to my family that I have been putting off? As we address our own lives, we are preparing our minds and spirits for confronting the world. Addressing our own lives is the first step to addressing the world.
It is natural for our lives to become more noticeable as we attempt to have a greater impact on the world, and we seek to make a difference in it. It would be good if we could take note of this and be motivated to make sure we are role models for others and be righteous in our lives. Our families need to be solid if we are to be strong for our collaborators, and we also need to be strong for our families.
Let us take care of ourselves so that we are able to provide people with an energy so that they can take care of their tasks and duties. Throughout history, there has never been a great philosopher or leader who has not taken time to leave us with a lesson that reminds us to be the change in the world that we wish to see.
